Housing is a subject that pertains to every one of us. For most people, when they're deciding where to live, cost plays an important role in their decision, and for some, the only role. But if you have a little extra income to work with, and you're considering leasing or buying a luxury apartment, the following list may give you the push you need to make your choice.
Safety Matters
When searching for a new place to live, the safety and protection of you and your family is top of mind. You will be hard pressed to find a luxury apartment in the slums. Nicer apartments are generally built in neighborhoods that are considered safer and offer more protection. Crime rates are generally lower, gang activity is often non-existent, and you will likely live within the boundaries of better schools.
You Get What You Pay For
If you're renting a place that's dirt cheap, you don't have to be a genius to figure that you're likely going to live in a sub-par area. Maintenance, pest control, and cleanliness is often a problem. In a luxury apartment, you're more likely to get a management team that solves problems quickly. The amenities will be more well-rounded in the way of fitness centers, pools, saunas, hot tubs, complimentary coffee or breakfast, recreation rooms, movie theaters, and banquet rooms for rent. Other amenities may include closer parking with additional spaces, wonderful views of the city, archictectural uniqueness, custom lighting, extra storage, luxury furnishings, a doorman, kitchen and bath upgrades, and vaulted ceilings.
Resale Value
If you choose to purchase a luxury apartment, it may be the best purchase you ever make. In recent years, the real estate market has seen an enormous demand for luxury apartments. Buyers love the added amenities, and real estate developers are crazy to get their hands on them. It's no secret that the number one influencer for higher resale value is location, and luxury apartments are built in high-demand locations. Other considerations when keeping resale in mind are views, waterfronts, size, layouts, upgrades, and retail establishments and highways in proximity. If you buy a luxury apartment, you are likely to have these desirable elements in your property. If the property has negative components like mold, fire or water damage, or was the site for a violent crime, you may not be able to command the resale price you would like.
